and the very last (27 August).
The three Ministers will be
involved at different times in
leading worship and the Revd

We are aiming to have Bettina

resources & a quiet area for
children at the morning services
during the summer. Team please

sheet from Bettina.

5. DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING
A team from St John Scotland will
visit Mayfield Salisbury Church on
Thursday 6 July at 7.00pm (for 1 hour)
to deliver training on how to use our
defibrillators, a device which, in
certain circumstances, may help to
restart the heart of someone who
is in cardiac arrest. We have two
on site here, one in the hall vestibule
next to the display screen and a
second just outside by the car park.
They are also widely installed in many
places around the country. These are
important machines which help to
save lives (wherever they are located)
so it would be great to reach and
train as many people as possible
on their use.

Revd Angus Mathieson, past
moderator of the Presbytery of
Edinburgh, says this: ‘This is a
great project for the Church to
be involved in. It’s about mission,
being at the heart of the community
and showing that the whole
community matters. Statistics show
the difference that accessible
defibrillators can make. This allows
us to show in a practical way, that
the Church’s witness includes and
goes beyond what happens in our
buildings and that we can make a
difference in life or death situations.’

There is no cost to this training and
it is open to all. A second session
(on the same day) may be available
depending on numbers. Please do
sign up, particularly if you help to
run a group or organise events.
If you are interested in attending
this session, please contact Catriona
